    It was thoroughly pleasant

Liked: The breakfast was excellent. the owner and his staff could not have been more gracious and helpful, including a friend of the owner who' works part time for him and who recommended a great pub called the New Inn., which is off the beaten tourist track. The location was great for people like us who wanted to spend time visiting the magnificent cathedral, which is indeed right next store to the hotel.

A Cathedral City in a beautiful medieval/ Roman town

Liked: I knew we would be close to the Cathedral but didn’t realise we were next door! We were in the very heart of this beautiful city. The hotel had everything we needed and we loved the quaintness of it. The slopey doorframes and floors tell you how old the building is. Breakfast overlooking Buttermarket was a particular treat. It is rare nowadays to receive good quality biscuits and access to free bottles of water. The staff were all so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you. We had travelled from Liverpool for a funeral but this hotel certainly brightened our stay.

Disliked: There are a lot of stairs and a walk across an open rooftop which was nasty in the rain but the close up view of the Cathedral kind of compensated for this.
