Pleasant stay inspite of a few negatives
Liked: We really enjoyed our stay – the lounge/bedroom is really spacious the kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom is a decent size but no bath. The shower is in a separate space next to the sauna. House is in its own spacious grounds which would be great to sit out in summer (we went in Jan). There is a really nice walk into the town – a pleasant path down through the woods to Prebends Bridge which takes you into the old town – 15 mins.
Disliked: Communication was poor. Post code is wrong – it sends you to another Clay Lane about a mile away, so check with owner. There are no instructions for the sauna, TV or running machine. There is a large apartment on first floor which could be noisy if its in use- (we were lucky as it was empty). There is no separate bedroom – the double bed is in the corner of the living room. The bed settee is also in the living room but is not fit for purpose and needs replacing. Some of the door knobs are really stiff- my wife nearly got trapped in the lounge so we left the door open! More photos would be useful.
We enjoyed our stay
Liked: Lovely spacious apartment and in a great location. Great facilities and very clean. Lovely grounds in peaceful location.
Disliked: Sound from upper apartment was noisy. Window handles/ locks did not work and we couldn’t close the window after opening. Couch was sagging and not comfortable to sit on.
Comfy but not much sleep
Liked: It was roomy, the bed was comfortable, it was walking distance to the places we wanted to visit. It would have been good to have a cafeteria, a tea pot, casserole dishes too. A towel rail in the shower room would also be good.
Disliked: At 6.20am the first morning we were abruptly woken by people running around in the property above. This went on for 2 hours, so no chance of getting back to sleep. The next morning was the same although a little later. Great location but only if you are an early riser.
Would definitely recommend- added bonus of free parking
Liked: The location was very peaceful and a lovely scenic walk into town. Rabbits run around the appartment in the day. Lovely to sit and watch. Appartment had everything and very clean.
Disliked: The bath towels were very thin and no towel rails.

Disliked: The property was tidy and the kitchen well equipped. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful and the location is excellent with the city a 10min walk away. The only feedback for improvement would be that the front window lock was broken and didn’t close properly. The property would benefit from curtains (the poles are there but no curtains) for added privacy and style and the television was set to Arabic (so it took 30mins of googling to resolve the issue - hopefully just a one-off left from the previous visitors? But we got there) other than that the property was great for a short stopover for a graduation at the cathedral.
