Great value-for-money room and bar with everything I needed for a relaxing stay

Liked: Outstanding value for money. Clean, comfortable, warm room with tea/coffee making facilities - good, effective black-out curtains. Great en-suite with fantastic hot shower. Nice bar with good variety of beers/cider/spirits - all fairly priced. Amazing staff - all very friendly and helpful. Friendly local punters - make you feel 'at home' and relaxed.

Disliked: No complaints... everything I needed for a relaxing stay, at a very fair price. Have already booked a return visit next year.

An excellent stay that made my first visit to Durham perfect

Liked: Cleanliness matters a great deal to me when I choose somewhere to stay, and The Shoes B&B truly exceeded my expectations. The sheets, pillows and duvet were all immaculately clean and smelled wonderfully fresh. The staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. The location is excellent too, so I really can’t fault it. I’d happily stay here again on my next visit to Durham.

    Disliked: nothing really.

Comfortable stay in a quiet room just on the outskirts of Durham

Liked: When I arrived I was slightly concerned that the room would not be as quiet as I had hoped because it was on a main road and above a pub. I need not have worried at all. The room was very quiet indeed, perfect temperature, strong WiFi (important because I needed to work) and the bed was very comfortable. Billy emailed me before I arrived and I told him I was vegetarian. When I arrived he made sure that there were some vegetarian sausages for my breakfast. I had a very enjoyable stay, and the place was excellent value for money.

    Disliked: Nothing

    Good value for money

Liked: There was a nice selection for breakfast and my veggie option was freshly cooked. The location was what I expected.

Disliked: A more comfortable bed would have been better.
