  good night's sleep at a reasonable price

  Liked: David was very welcoming. Room & bathroom very clean. Bed very comfortable & I had a good night's sleep.Area very quiet.

  Disliked: the stairway is quite steep but there are handrails.

  Disliked: Poor communication from host, I arrived a little earlier than I said I would and tried to contact the host several times, calls, email and text to no avail. Eventually when the door was opened I explained that I had been trying to communicate to no avail. There was no apology, I just got an...oh its the number for my husband and he is at work. Surely if you are in such a business/host, being contactable is important. The room was very dusty and the bedding poor quality. I didn't expect 5 star but still something a bit more comfortable. An oversight on my part, no kitchen facilities, I asked to warm up my dinner given I was coming from work but I was told no... a little kindness goes a long way sometimes.

  Ideal stop over before my marathon

  Liked: The place was ideal for the marathon I was doing locally. The room was a perfect size for what I needed.

  Disliked: The mattress was super hard, and the fridge smelt a bit funky.

  Terrible! Worst ever experience!

  Disliked: The main purpose of booking the room is to attend my induction day dinner till later night. But the whole thing was totally ruined by this booking and made it a nightmare. Travelling from Oxford city centre, it must get over two long steep slopes to get there, which made me exhausted and sweated all over by riding a bicycle. The bus nearby isn't reliable either, didn't arrive on time, making me have to suffer another tedious cycling journey back to city centre to catch up the dinner. These two journys should have been saved if only the landlord didn't insist on the check-in time before 9pm. He also claimed they do not allow shower or any noise after 10pm and I have to rush back from dinner on 9:30pm and the river lane's closure cost me £30 to take a taxi along with my bicycle to get back to their house. Sacastically, they kept talking till mid ntight next room and get up earlier at 4am making a lot of noise. I didn't have any single sleep that night, not only because of the noise but also the terrible suffocating material of the bed mattrass making my skin almost burning!
