Liked: If we overlook the absolutely terrible communication with the host, the apartment itself is actually quite nice (although, in my opinion, the sofa is practically impossible to sleep on). The kitchen and bathroom are excellent. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and a shopping centre is within easy reach. However, don't forget to bring earplugs, as there is a fairground right outside the windows, which can get very noisy.

Disliked: The worst check-in experience of my life! We had to run to the shop twice to collect a key that wasn't even there. It turned out that the host hadn't checked where the key was, and it was actually left under the doormat outside the apartment. However, we couldn't even get to the apartment because the main entrance door to the building was locked. Trying to get help was a nightmare! Their phone number simply didn't work, and their agent replied with short, unhelpful messages only every 10–15 minutes. Eventually, we were told to ring the neighbours' doorbells and hope someone would let us into the building. Nobody answered! We were lucky that, after a long wait, someone finally came out, allowing us to slip inside. The host's attitude was absolutely appalling and showed a complete lack of care for their guests. We were exhausted and travelling with a child, yet we were left unable to access our apartment for almost two hours and had already started looking for a hotel for the night. Communication was terrible. I have never experienced anything like this before. I strongly recommend avoiding apartments managed by HELLOGUEST. To make matters worse, the sofa is extremely uncomfortable - sleeping on it feels like sleeping on a rock. There is also so much noise coming from outside that you should definitely bring earplugs.

Great location for exploring the city

Liked: Location is excellent. It is in the center of the city. Can walk everywhere

Disliked: You have to go to Westgate shopping center to get your keys on arrival. If you have heavy bags and are alone, this is not easy. There should be a way to collect the keys at Gloucester Green at one of the shops. This apartment is on the 3rd floor ( American way) but the elevator is broken permanently so if you have heavy bags, it is a problem. So make sure to pack light!

Extremely disappointing stay – Strongly not recommended

    Liked: Nothing.

Disliked: It was overpriced for the poor quality and numerous issues encountered: Security Deposit Concerns: After booking, I was required to pay a security deposit nearly equal to the total room rate. This payment had to be made via an external link outside of the Booking.com platform, leaving me with no assurance that the deposit would actually be returned. Waiting two weeks for a refund via an unverified third-party link is completely unacceptable and insecure. Water Heater Issues: The water heater could not be adjusted. During a heatwave, the water was scalding hot, making it impossible to take a shower. Lack of Cooling: During the same heatwave, there was no air conditioning or even an electric fan provided, making it nearly impossible to sleep. Noise Disturbance: The property is located within a student dormitory area. Despite strict rules against making noise, the restaurant and square outside were incredibly loud. One night, a group was drinking and shouting until 4:00 AM. It is hypocritical to enforce strict noise rules on guests when the environment is this noisy. No Elevator Access: The elevator was sealed off and unusable. We had to carry heavy luggage up to the third floor, and the host failed to inform us of this before arrival. Poor Facilities and Cleanliness: We were not allowed to use the washing machine. The room was not cleaned properly, with sand found on the floors and tables. The key collection point was over a 10-minute walk from the property, and the "double bed" in the bedroom was actually a flimsy, uncomfortable sofa bed. Unresponsive Host: When I contacted the host regarding these issues, the responses were slow and consisted entirely of robotic, canned messages. When I pressed further, the host claimed they were unaware the elevator was broken but made no effort to fix it or offer assistance. I believe this host is highly irresponsible. It seems they do not care about guests once the booking is made.

A nice flat ideally located but overpriced given the limitations listed above

Liked: Ideally located for academic work at Oxford. Excellent kitchen facilities and wifi.

Disliked: Keys are not stored in a lockbox on-site, but blocks away. The bed is far too small even for a single adult guest. Bedding is very basic. The adjacent courtyard is noisy at night. The landlord wasn't able to supply a proper invoice, even upon specific request. Not professionally managed.
