  Excellent budget option in a very expensive city

  Liked: Staff were very helpful in responding to pre-arrival questions (via booking.com chat). The rooms are on the small side, but perfectly adequate, and clean. The shared kitchen in the basement was well-stocked with food (e.g. breakfast cereals, eggs) and equipment for making breakfast.Our room at the rear of the house was very quiet at night, despite the moderate traffic on the road outside the front. The room rate was very reasonable considering the generally high prices for accommodation in Oxford.

  Disliked: Both guest bathrooms are on the same floor, which a little inconvenient for those on other floors. but it seems to be a fundamental limitation of the building. This would potentially be a cause for complaint at a much more expensive property, but I don't consider it a significant issue considering the cost of the accommodation.

  Liked: I had a wonderful stay in Oxford, and I truly believe that choosing this accommodation was one of the reasons my trip was so enjoyable. What impressed me most was the warm, homely atmosphere. I loved being able to make myself a cup of tea and prepare my own breakfast. It really made me feel at home! My room was clean and comfortable, with a lovely view overlooking the street. One of my favourite moments was in the evening, when I could turn off the lights, open the curtains, and simply enjoy the beautiful view through the window. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The shared bathrooms were also very clean and well maintained. And the hotel's excellent location and transport connections were another major advantage. The bus stop right outside provided easy access to the city centre and airport, and made the journey from the train station convenient too. I especially appreciated not having to drag my suitcase along the long, cobbled street. I would give the location a perfect ten out of ten.

  Disliked: I didn't realise that the hotel provided bread, butter, eggs, and fruit for a light meal, so that evening I went to the restaurant next door for a few glasses of wine and a seafood platter, which cost me a fortune. However, it was also a very enjoyable experience happy eating but pocket is not!!!

  Great option for a budget friendly stay

  Liked: Budget stay so shared facilities - but in that context great value for money. Access to property was via a key box and instructions to access were clear. Communication from host re parking etc was extremely helpful. Nearby Italian was a stones throw away and really great food. Easy to walk into Oxford centre.

  Disliked: Nothing - was better than expected considering the price!
