Good
Liked: Great location. Walking distance to all major sight
Disliked: Street noise can be issue for light sleeper
Perfect
Liked: Perfect
Disliked: Nothing
Not very good value for money at £218 per night in my opinion
Disliked: The room had an odour/bad smell when we arrived. This was a drain/smell. Housekeeping put on the A/C and opened the window which helped. The carpet also had a big stain on it. No breakfast at the hotel.
Great value for excellent position, a place with character
Liked: A lovely room in a very central location. Right next to Gloucester Green bus station, and short stroll to High Street and Corn market area. The room is as described, if not better and I was very pleased with the choice. Very spacious bathroom, a walk in closet, a fridge, air con, these are all fantastic amenities. It is an older property so if you don’t like a bit of patina and character, then this is not for you. The staff were super helpful, communicative about check in and check out. I would definitely recommend. Being so central there are a few bars etc in the neighbourhood, again, if you want central location and no noise, you may be disappointed. However the general hum of nightlife didn’t keep me awake. I did wake up at 5.30am to what sounded like the bins being emptied, its s busy place and these services have to happen at some point in the day.
Disliked: Echoing prior reviews, yes there is a steep flight of stairs to reception as the hotel is above shops and restaurants. The stairs have a half way landing to catch your breath! And the staff very helpfully assisted with my suitcase.
Liked: Acceptable facilities, comfortable bed and pillows. It had air conditioning but the air con was impossible to set lower and blew directly onto the bed so it was practically impossible to use - you would either absolutely freeze and get a headache or be incredibly hot. The staff were however very quick to respond and very friendly.
Disliked: The windows were fixed in place so some you couldn't open at all, others you could open only a crack onto an internal-facing, disused courtyard area. It felt quite stuffy and airless inside unless you used the air conditioning. The room was a little shabby - with hooks missing from the walls so nowhere to hang a towel in the bathroom or put the loo roll, stains on the carpet, etc. You could hear a lot of noise from neighbouring builders/workmen through the bathroom ventilation as well.
Very good location, small room
Liked: The location was perfect and we could get to the places we wanted to visit on foot. The air conditioning was very good.
Disliked: The room was far smaller than the photos make it seem.
