Fine. Safe, clean but very expensive for what it is

Liked: The staff were friendly, it's no fuss, totally and utterly basic but felt safe and clean enough.

Disliked: Anywhere else it would have been about £40 a night, we paid £105. It was raining and the ceiling in the hallway was dripping terribly, definitely a slip hazard. It's really tired in many places and not at all pretty or anything above a very budget hotel. Except it's in Oxford, so even budget it expensive!

The facilities and level of service could be significantly improved

Liked: The location is excellent, with convenient access to the University of Oxford, making it an ideal choice for visitors to the university.

Disliked: The hotel’s facilities are quite old and would benefit from renovation. Staff availability is also a concern, as there is often no one available when assistance or support is needed. In addition, the hotel does not offer breakfast, which is inconvenient for guests.

Disliked: Everything is fine but the soundscape was disastrous - late night arrivals woke up everybody while walking in corridor and closing doors as well as using bathrooms. Below was a bit unfair to this decent small hotel but we unfortunately experienced a disastrous incident that a poor resident forgot his key to our shared corridor gate and kept punching the door for over an hour from around 3am and finally got back in at around 4:30am - no one in the hotel (surely those in the ground floor rooms and might also include hotel neigbours) were asleep during that horrifying period of time...

great value in the heart of town

Liked: The room is very good value, situated right in town. A short walk from everything.

Disliked: The check in was a little awkward, I had to find my host. There is no hotel parking, i'd recommend using the park and ride if travelling by car.

Liked: Easy to walk to the high street/university area (15 mins) Staff was approachable e.g. when I asked for an ironing board, they brought it up Helpful staff offering to carry my luggage up for me.

Disliked: Although the bedroom was clean, the bathroom was very filthy. It had been left with tooth brush/soap splatters everywhere. The walls around the shower area was dirty too. This made me feel uncomfortable staying there. There was no hair dryer or iron in the room. I had conference while I was there and meant to wake up early next day. I went downstairs twice asking for a hair dryer, but no one brought it up. I texted and called the number too, explaining I needed it before going to bed. I stayed up till very late waiting and finally went to bed without being able to wash my hair. Before going to bed, I sent another text requesting that they at least brought it up in the morning, but they hadnt so I went to the conference and business meetings/networking without washing my hair! To be fair, when I came back to the hotel in the evening the hair dryer was outside my room, but it was 24 hrs after I had requested it. I had the same issue with borrowing an iron for my clothes.
