Good
Great location and decent space for the price, with a few issues
Liked: Location was brilliant, 5 minute walk from train station and multiple car parks nearby where you can park for up to 72 hours for an alright price. Less than 10 minute walk into town for shops, restaurants, pubs etc. The house itself was spacious, there was more than enough room for 5 of us staying for a weekend - could sleep up to 6 comfortably. Towels were provided, enough for everybody, as well as multiple hairdryers. We didn't cook but there were plenty of glasses, plates etc in the kitchen, and a dishwasher and washing machine were both available. The price was very reasonable compared to other properties/hotels in the area for the weekend we stayed, and overall we had everything we needed and were happy with what we got for the price we paid.
Disliked: All that being said, the house in general could really do with some TLC in places. The boiler was leaking while we were there, and the bin was being used to catch the water from it - wasn't a major issue as heating/hot water was still working, but a bit inconvenient having to use a loose bin bag in the kitchen as opposed to the actual bin. There was also an open cat flap in the back door which meant there was a cold breeze through the back room/kitchen, so we had to be vigilant with shutting the door between the kitchen and the living room otherwise it got very cold. The interior door between the front door and living room also didn't stay closed so we had to put a chair up against it to stop it swinging open - again not a huge issue at all, but inconvenient. Light in the hallway upstairs was flickering so we left that turned off. Blinds in the bedroom were a bit temperamental and not particularly effective at keeping light out in the morning. There were some random bricks underneath the sofa in the living room - unsure whether these were there for the structural integrity of the sofa or if it was just an odd choice of storage. Also, not necessarily a con, but the stairs up to the bedroom on the top floor are very steep and narrow (almost ladder-like) - was alright for us as we're all able-bodied in our early 20s, but would be a struggle for anybody less mobile (and we did decide it would be wise for one of the non-drinkers to take that room just to be on the safe side!!)
We had a great stay at the Bodhi Tree Cottage and would happily visit again- great location!
Liked: Great location - easy walk from the station and to the town, theatre etc. Clean and comfortable with a nice little courtyard where we could sit and eat outside in the sunshine. Very good communication from the hosts.
Disliked: We were all very happy there and I had no problem getting up to the 3rd room, but the stairs up to that top room are extremely steep and would likely be hard for some. It’s a little bit like student digs but perfectly clean and we found it good value for the price.
We had a wonderful stay enhanced by the nice accommodation
Liked: The cottage was very comfortable, well equipped and in an excellent location.
Disliked: The attic room needed a little more furniture
Liked: Location and facilities
Disliked: No small towels, inside door didn’t shut
We stayed for a very sentimental bereavement stay, I felt very relaxed and pleasant. The rooms were all clean, tidy and
Liked: Very warm and inviting, from home to home!
Disliked: Loved it all
Unsafe, uncared for and host is unbothered
Liked: - location
Disliked: - broken bed - broken sofa propped up on bricks - freezing and a locked thermostat you cannot change at 14 degrees in the night - dirty sheets - unresponsive host - house for sale so they clearly just do not care, cancel your booking if you can. - -
