  Nice appartment when visiting Cologne

Liked: Nice appartment with everything you need when spending a few days in Cologne. We mainly used the appartment for sleeping and shower and for this it was perfect. The location was nice and with the U-bahn close by it was easy to visit the different parts of Cologne.

Disliked: It was a bummer the swimming pool was closed for maintenance.

Liked: The flat is four tram stops from the city, although we walked most of the time. Flat is on 7th floor. To use the washing machines in the basement, place 2.5 Euro into a machine to get a token. The bathroom is relatively new new with plenty of hot water.

Disliked: No proper table and chairs, just a very high wobbly bar type table with high bar stools to match. We used the desk as a table. Washing machine in basement. Cooktop is pretty slow and past its use by date I think. Kitchen compact but it works.

Liked: Excellent communication from our host.Got a lot of info before our arrival. All the ways to travel from the airport. Restaurant recommendations, shops, cafes etc. Spotlessly clean apartment, location perfect we walked everywhere. The apartment was well and fully equipped, and everything you need, a coffee machine 👌.Highly recommend this apartment. Thank you.

Disliked: This was by far the worst experience I’ve had with a host and Booking.com. First, the listing was clearly misleading. A swimming pool was prominently advertised as part of the amenities — the main reason I booked — but when I arrived, I was informed by the “concierge” that the pool had been closed for more than six months. I assume that the host was aware of this, but chose not to update the listing. The check-in process was a complete disaster. My name was not registered, no instructions were given, and repeated attempts of myself and the concierge to contact the host failed. After a 20-minute back and forth with the “concierge,” I finally received a key. This was all late at night, after an exhausting day. To make matters worse, the “concierge” (which to be fair was trying to be as helpful) made inappropriate and unprofessional comments after photographing my ID, making me feel extremely uncomfortable. When I informed the host that I no longer wished to stay due to the misleading information and the disturbing experience, I was only offered a 10% discount. The host was in overall very rude on the phone and showed zero accountability for the situation — no apology for anything and no proper solution. I strongly advise against booking this apartment. It was a deeply disappointing and unsettling experience from start to finish.
