Exceptional
Liked: Nice rooms, nice restaurant and good service from staff
Disliked: Lot of construction going on so getting car etc was slower and more awkward than usual.
Great location, perfect service, beautiful communial spaces but bedrooms need an upgrade
Liked: Communal areas were superb (bar, restaurant etc), service was impeccable and we could not fault it. The location was also excellent directly opposite the Cathedral-the flip side was a lot of late night noise from party goers near the hotel, but that’s to be expected.
Disliked: The room was tired. Whilst it was spacious it felt fairly dated, the bathroom in particular. The shower over the bath was not easy to access and water poured down the outside of the bath when in use. Some grout was clearly old, not dirty as such but a bit darkened and mouldy. The furniture in the rooms could also do with an upgrade. I appreciate the old grandeur vibe, which is what the whole hotel exudes and as I said the communal spaces had this in a positive way. Sadly not the room so much.
Great location
Liked: Location ideal next to Cathedral and Train Station. Breakfast was very good though I did wait 30 mins for an order of eggs as it was forgotten about. Room was fine - the hotel is old though and this is reflected in the room. Mini bar (drinks only) were included in room price. There was no kettle. Free drink voucher for bar offered if you opt out of daily cleaning - this includes a free cocktail.
Disliked: WiFi whilst fast in the communal areas was completely unusable in the room - presumably due to thickness of walls. I had to tether from phone which added to costs. The staff did offer me a mobile hotspot but this didn’t work either.
Amazing hotel with great team
Liked: The font Desk, Specially Patrick was so kind and amazing. Location is great, very classy hotel and our room was just beautiful

The only real highlight was the excellent location, right in the heart of Cologne

Disliked: The rooms were small, outdated, and surprisingly lacked air conditioning, while the limited breakfast selection and cold service made the stay disappointing; even a 30-minute late checkout was refused.

Disliked: If you got pre-authorization payment, why do you do it twice? And the extra taxes that they added up
