    stay in style in cologne

Liked: stayed in the suite, which was the size of a regular room but beautifully designed and under the roof. loved the little design details. slept so so well as the street is exceptionally quiet. Also extremely comfortable bed. Love the front desk boys team.

Disliked: The carpet in the room at the seating corner though is a dirt monster... accidentally had an onigiri falling in it. hope those rice grains i may have forgotten to take out wont stick in it for weeks.. picking those grains out was a very dirty incident

    Pretty good, could be better

    Liked: Location good. Design ok.

Disliked: No restaurant. Arrived hungry and no food options. Room facilities not great. Lack of power sockets, tea but no milk or spoon etc. Shower poor - not enough power, no shower door so the floor gets soaked. I requested an ergonomic pillow (or at least a firm one), and got something that was maybe slightly firmer but not much. I chose this hotel for a business trip for a change instead of the usual motel one etc, deciding to go for a local independent - but I found the room and general facilities a bit disappointing.

Liked: Hopper Hotel St. Josef was the perfect base for my stay in Cologne. The staff were very friendly and helpful when it came to solving a few personal issues I had during my stay. The room had a lovely view over the courtyard and was a comfortable haven when it came to relaxing after a day walking through the city.

I wrote a long sentence to sum up why you shouldn’t stay instead…

Liked: The view from the outside was as good as it got.

Disliked: The next day I have just checked into a 5* hotel in chamonix for three days for half the price (also booked on booking.com)… the rooms were tidy but not ‘clean’ at all… bathroom partitions made out glass and stud wall that doesn’t reach the ceiling is not a pleasant experience for anyone you are sharing your room with should you experience any bowel movements!!! The Ironing board had snapped arms and was holding by a thread from its folding cupboard, no wardrobe or hangars, one pillow, breakfast was extortionately expensive so went without, only ‘centrally’ located if you fancy a 35 min walk to the cathedral… just please be warned, research some more and find better amenities at a better price with a better location! Oh and even with putting the ages of our children in for the second room upon booking (-16), they ended up down the corridor and not next to us which you would think is common sense especially when specifically asking for ages. Unfortunately will not be recommending…
