We could not stay at our chosen hotel because The Berg had transferred our reservation to another ho

  Liked: Not applicable

Disliked: (a)The Hotel Berg decided to move us to another hotel without seeking our agreement and did not tell us of the change until we were on our train journey to Cologne. (b) We did not know where the substitute hotel (The Classic Harmony Hotel) was located.

Not worth being cheap for this

Liked: The staff were very nice

Disliked: It was a carpeted floor, there was mould in the bathroom, curtains were dirty and cobwebs everywhere. Also was very cold as the heater was broken as well. Should have paid extra to stay somewhere else for the value

Liked: Location is fantastic and Dom is very close. Bed was clean and towels were also very clean. Also its good for one night stay. Also serving bottled water as complementary was really nice.

Disliked: They heating was not switching on in mid of Oct when its quite cool inside room. We had to struggle to keep ourselves warm. Also bathroom was so small that I hit my head twice to use the basin.

Liked: Staff was really nice, breakfast was brilliant and cheap. Location was privileged, staff was perfect, facilities were more than correct and everything was clean, even with a shared bathroom. The room was perfect, toiletries and water were a nice touch. Will be back when we visit Cologne again!♥️

  Very Convenient

Liked: Very convenient to the main station and the cathedral. Just a short walk into the quiet streets and you will find Hotel Berg. We received a warm welcome and all the information we needed from the lovely lady who checked us in. Our room was small but perfectly adequate and whilst it was a shared bathroom, you do have a sink in your room. We had a twin room, beds were comfortable, WiFi good and the water was hot in the shower. The area is quiet and we had a good night’s sleep. Small choice for breakfast but still enough to give a good start to the day. Be aware, there is no lift but we are in our 70’s and managed. We would certainly stay again.
