  Great basic accommodations in a terrific central location for walkability

  Liked: The location is terrific and central, wonderful for walkability. The breakfast the next morning was really lovely with super sweet staff. Everyone was helpful and the rooms are perfectly fine.

  Disliked: We were expecting an onsite restaurant but that has recently closed. The process for entering the property was a bit complicated and requires going to another location to pick up the key (same location as breakfast) but that wasn't quite clear. All of the folks who we met who are working there were so sweet and helpful so that made up for any confusion about how to check in.

  Decent room but could be much better

  Liked: The breakfast was tasty and the room was clean.

  Disliked: Check in was slow. The front door was open too often. My wife noticed sanitary issues with the kitchen and it is her profession. Not even a small fridge in the room. No hair dryer.

  Nice enough room, lovely breakfast

  Liked: The hotel was central. The breakfast was very nice,fresh fruit salad,bread and cheese,juice and plenty of coffee with freshly steamed milk. They also served a nice sweet orange cake. The room it was served in was nice too

  Disliked: When we arrived at the hotel, the address was hard to find,the door was locked and there was a notice only in Portuguese to tell you you needed to ring a phone number ( I’m Irish and I booked this hotel from Ireland so I’d have expected that the booking information would be in English as well as Portuguese. Also the rooms weren’t at the address provided by booking.com,we had to walk to a different location up the road where the rooms actually are Then we needed to actually leave the accommodation and walk back to check in part where they had the restaurant for our breakfast. The room we had was clean, had lovely exposed brick and air conditioning.

  Liked: Central location. Hotel and room were lovely, full of charm and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good. Would definitely recommend.

  Disliked: A little bit noisy from people passing by at night and talking too loudly, so disturbed our sleep a couple of times. However, we would still stay here again if staying in Chaves.
