  Avoid!! Who turned out the lights?

  Liked: Location and staff were excellent, no complaints.

  Disliked: Our room (#108) was pitch black 24 hours a day. On arrival at 3:30pm on a hot sunny afternoon we opened the door to complete darkness. We assumed the curtains were shut and used our phone lights to put the key card into the slot to light the room. Imagine our surprise to find our curtains open and the windows facing a solid wall with little light entering. The room lights had to be kept on 24 hours a day to navigate about the room in daylight hours. I wanted to change room immediately but my wife didn't want a fuss (she admits she was wrong now). In passing the neighbouring room at cleaning time we noticed as a clean, bright room in full sunshine. Our issue, how did we get a room in a "cellar" with no light as a "Standard Room" while our neighbours had a light, airy room at the same price. I'd add a photo of the room in "daylight" if allowed. If not. It's a faint window shape in complete darkness at mid-afternoon on a hot sunny day

  Excellent choice for a stay in Porto
