  Great location and easy walking access to lots of good restaurants/bars

  Liked: In terms of the train station, and being close to restaurants, etc, the location was perfect. It’s right across the street from Sao Bento station.

  Disliked: Finding the actual door to let us into the apartment building itself is a bit tricky; however, the video and instructions sent by the owners are very helpful.

  The hosts are more or less non-existent and completely unhelpful. Stay anywhere else in this amazing city

  Liked: The room itself was very comfortable and the bathroom was INCREDIBLY nice. It is also centrally located and easy to walk to other places. Once they finish construction; there will be a nice view of the train station.

  Disliked: The walkway to the entrance is… dicey, to put it mildly. It’s down a dark, trash covered hallway and more often than not there was someone sleeping or shooting up in the stairwell. Also, the address on booking.com does not come up as anything in google maps so you kind of just need to wander aimlessly until you find the correct, gross hallway. As you enter the room there is a book of instructions/information that is mostly blank. The room was very cold when I got there and it seemed that maybe someone had left the window open earlier in the day. It was noticeably cooler than it was outside. There was an old heater on the wall and I attempted to turn it on, hoping it would heat the room while I was away. I went out for dinner and when I returned it was even colder. I wrote to the hosts asking about the heating unit that was there that didn’t turn on and received an automated message back that said they weren’t available and would respond the next day. They did not. When I woke up it was still the same and I had not heard back from the hosts. I went out to meet up with friends in the city and returned later that day to the same cold room. I chose to go wait somewhere with heat and reached out to the hosts again. This time they did respond and told me that they needed a photo of “the controls on the wall” because they rent out so many rooms they didn’t know one from the other. One would think they could look at my reservation or just scroll up to the messages confirming my stay, but that seemed too difficult to them. I told them I wasn’t in the room and they said they couldn’t help without a photo of the controls. I explained again that there weren’t controls and that it was an older heater attached to the wall. They said that I needed to push the on button. I let them know there was no on button and they told me to “look better”. When I returned to the room I sent a picture of the heater and received no response.

  the whole city seems to be one giant construction site. Otherwise very pretty along the river front

  Liked: Clean and well appointed apartment. Handy location directly opposite the station and Timeout market. Walking distance to everything.

  Disliked: Lack of A/C and zero ventilation made the place stuffy unless you opened both the windows and the front door. This of course lets you enjoy the the sounds of the construction site opposite. This was known about in advance and the insulation means that it's not intrusive as long as the windows are closed.

  Loved this place! A few extras mentioned above would have made a solid 10. 2 day rest while walking the Camino

  Liked: Location, comfy bed, bathtub, kitchenette, clothes washer.

  Disliked: A few little extras like paper towels and a broom. Lots of wine glasses but no drink glasses.
