What is San Juan beach?
Playa de San Juan is Alicante’s long beach, about 3 km of fine sand between Cabo de la Huerta and El Campello, with Avenida de Niza behind it, lined with hotels, apartments and restaurants.
Getting around from here
The TRAM runs along the beach, with several stops, and reaches Luceros, in the centre, in about 25 minutes. By car, the airport is about 25 minutes away.
When rooms are hardest to find
At Easter, during the Hogueras de San Juan bonfire festival, from 20 to 24 June, and in July and August, when most people want to stay by the sea.
Which area to choose
On the seafront and Avenida de Niza there are beach hotels, many with pools, and aparthotels; a little further back, apartments and villas to rent. This page looks up to 1.5 kilometres from the middle of the beach.
