Must-sees
Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world, home to monarchs for almost a thousand years. You can visit the State Apartments, St George’s Chapel, where royal weddings are held and several monarchs are buried, and Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House. Several days a week there is a Changing of the Guard.
Across the bridge over the Thames is Eton, with its famous school. The Long Walk, a four-kilometre avenue, crosses Windsor Great Park, and nearby is Legoland, a favourite with families.
