Fabulous
On the second day the owner did turn up to address our issues but these should have been addressed before we arrived
Liked: The central location It was very clean
Disliked: When we arrived on a very cold day the heating wasn’t working Bathroom window broken it was not possible to close it Front door rotted at the bottom No instructions as to work tv etc
Lovely cottage with lots of space
Liked: Excellent location, parking, plenty of space in the upstairs bedrooms. Lots of Charme. Quiet and peaceful location, also at night. Very friendly and helpful owners.
Disliked: Downstairs (kitchen and living room) not very comfortable and cold, not enough space if we had stayed with the full 7-8 people that the house could hold. Very drafty, many broken windows etc. inconsistent heating. Recommendation: if you’re staying in winter, bring blankets and house shoes.
This place needs major repairs works, and is not suitable for groups of 7 people
Disliked: The maintenance on this property has been neglected for years. The windows and doors are all rotten and extremely draughty, with massive gaps around all windows and under the main door. House cold when we arrived. The central heating had not been put on, even though an arrival time was given & confirmed. The upstairs eventually warmed up, but the downstairs radiators didn’t work at all. So all we had was a small electric heated, that was not sufficient. The coffee & sugar jars were disgusting - see photo. This led us to check and wash all the crockery, glasses and cutlery before using, as we could trust the hosts cleanliness standards. The lounge is way too small for the amount the house sleeps and our group of 7 people. The place is tired and in places looks grotty and neglected. The garden looks awful, it has also been neglected. A old hot tub is dumped in the decking, there is no outdoor furniture. So this space is totally unusable and pointless. The old rotten, decaying windows (all throughout the house) rattled so much when the wind blew, we thought they were going to fall out. This disturbed our sleep. No hooks for bath towels in bedroom. Your sign says no dirty shoes, but there is no door mat outside or inside. Where do you want us to wipe wet feet? Unsafe for Children - trip hazard with rug in lounge, sharpe corners in kitchen, exposed broken glass in windows,
Great location and parking a bonus, needs maintenance
Liked: Fantastic location in the centre of the city. Parking for 3 cars was brilliant although the entrance was a little tight with a large car. Bedrooms a good size.
Disliked: Really disappointed with the kitchen and living space. Not enough room for the occupancy advertised. You could only fit 4 around the table. There were only four forks. Dishes were put away dirty so had to wash everything. It’s an old house but rotten windows with pieces missing were unacceptable. Such a shame. Property has so much going for it but let down by poor upkeep.
Liked: Clean beds, toilet and bathroom Comfortable sleep Amazing and very helpful host Excellent location
Disappointed
Liked: The location to the town centre was perfect
Disliked: There were so many things wrong with the property and as a family we were so disappointed.
