  A lovely welcoming place with parking and comfy beds, decent shower. Mike was very helpful

  Liked: Mike was really helpful, the place had parking, and was opposite a restaurant where we had dinner and breakfast. Would stay there again

  Disliked: There was no breakfast provided. Next time we would take our own as there is a dining room available with fridge, microwave and toaster

  Very happy to stay there again

  Liked: all good and happy to stay again on the next visit to Chester. Friendly and knowledgeable about what is available in Chester and the surrounding area.

  Disliked: Breakfast at the hungry horse,Food was Cold and served on a cold plate. I would Not recommend them to other visitors.

  Liked: Good location. About 20 min walk to city centre. No breakfast, but local cafes nearby and fridge, microwave and plates available in common room.

  Very old and tired hotel

  Liked: The owner let us check in early which was very helpful. The location is quite good, around 20 min walk to town.

  Disliked: The hotel is so tired and run down. The room was dirty, including the bathroom and also absolutely tiny. Definitely do not recommend.

  Nice stay

  Liked: Close to everything needed including city centre and rail station. Lovely helpful owner who gave us plenty of Info on our surroundings. Property is cosy with a vintage vibe which may be perceived as outdated however, I think this is intentional. Lovely pillows on the bed and everything in the room functioning perfectly well. Tea, coffee and kettle provided and working tv.

  Disliked: The toilet and basin were well cleaned however the tiles behind the door and surrounding could do with a bit of a scrub. Some limescale around the shower and dirty mirror however, in no way was the room as a whole generally dirty just a few tweaks here and there.
