  It is possible, if there are no others

  Liked: The location is excellent—the city center is nearby, and transport is close by.

  Disliked: The apartment is far from new. The furniture is worn, showing clear signs of use, and there are marks left by previous guests on the walls. The common areas—the hallways and the lobby—are in terrible condition; trash lay on the floor for the entire week without ever being cleaned up. During my stay, the electric kettle stopped working. The owner suggested that I buy a replacement myself—using my own money—with the promise of reimbursement later. In other words, I’m expected to spend my own time purchasing an appliance for the apartment—I find that absolutely brazen! I paid for the use of the apartment, yet the owner can’t be bothered to replace a broken appliance.

  Not what I expect when booking with booking. Com

  Liked: Ideal location. Nice furnishings. Quiet. Television wasn’t working and we had a new one within an hour. Quick service.

  Disliked: Floors hadn’t been washed. Tray in oven hadn’t been cleaned since previous occupants. No chopping board, bottle opener no soap in kitchen and lack of any cleaning materials either in kitchen or bathroom. No cupboard essentials eg salt.

  Disappointed with the apartment condition

  Liked: The location close to the city centre and in a quiet area

  Disliked: The mattress was old and uncomfortable and clearly needs to be replaced. The sofa was visibly dirty, and the overall standard of cleanliness was quite poor. The bathroom floor was sticky, and both the oven and microwave in the kitchen had grease and had not been properly cleaned.

  Good day at races very disappointing accommodation

  Liked: The location wasn’t that bad

  Disliked: The cleanliness. The parking was terrible. The foyer’s smelled. The bed was so uncomfortable just planks I have stayed in Chester lots of times and I never complain but it was so bad I only stayed one night instead of two
