  Smells of urine, noises wake you up all night

  Liked: Information sent via email beforehand was thorough, with videos on how to find the apartment and key.

  Disliked: We stayed in Room 4, in the basement, at the end of the corridor. This is one of the worst stays I have had in a long time. A few hours after arriving I noticed a vague urine smell while sitting on the bed. Although the bathroom looked clean, the smell was clearly coming from something in there - either the toilet, sink or shower drain. We bought a gel air freshener to cover it, which worked for a while, but by the next day the smell of urine was extreme. The smell was overwhelming when in the bathroom, and disgusting in the main room; lying in bed, all I could smell was urine (despite having the air freshener next to the bed). At this point we looked at other reviews and saw that other people have complained about a smell too, so we assume this has been reported many times and the owners haven't fixed it (we therefore didn't contact them, as we didn't want to interrupt our holiday with more hassle for something it seems like they don't wish to fix). To make it a bit more managable, on the final night we put a towel along the bottom of the bathroom door; paired with the air freshner this made it tolerable to be in the main room, although the bathroom still smelled overwhelming when using it. On top of this, the noises in the building overnight were incredibly loud, woke us up and kept us awake every night. Some of this was from other people in the building, footsteps and doors shutting etc, but most seemed to be coming from the building itself (perhaps pipes, or something in the building next door). The noises were intermitent across the night, but especially between 3 and 4am every night there was so much noise it woke us up and stopped us sleeping. The room itself is very basic and quite faded, but would be fine if it didn't stink of urine and have noises that stop you sleeping.

  It was small and compact but had everything we needed, and the location was perfect for us

  It was a great find and a great stay I will be back for sure

  Liked: What a find the place was immaculate and well equipped. Much better than one usually gets. It was in a good place for where I wanted to be in London for the two days.

  Disliked: This is not a complaint just for info for the hosts. The main lights in the bedroom and the bathroom both seem to be a little wrong they flickered and buzzed and you had to press the switches a few times to sort. This is just for information. I was aware that there was no lift but we were on the top floor so just a word you ahve to be fairly fit and hopefully not have too much luggage. All that said I will definitely return

  Good location and value

  Liked: Good location, close to the metro and supermarkets. Good value for money and comfortable. It has everything you need.

  Disliked: The space is quite small. It’s basically a double hotel room with a kitchenette. There is no lift, which wasn’t a problem for me, but it’s worth keeping in mind.

Good to know

The property operates a self-check in system and the apartments/units are self-serviced/self-contained. You will receive an email containing your arrival information via email 2 days prior to your arrival, sent at 2pm. If you have booked within 3 days to arrival, you will receive your arrival information shortly after the booking is confirmed on our system. If you do not receive this information, please contact the property immediately.

Please note that the studio does not have air-conditioning, but central heating and separate fans are provided.

The building does not have a elevator

Identification (Passport or ID) may be requested of guests by the property for local bookings. Driver’s license not accepted.

Concept Serviced Apartments cannot guarantee that all special requests can be confirmed but the property will try their best to do so wherever possible. The Serviced Apartments have a strict maximum occupancy of 2 people and do not allow children or additional adult guests. There are no sofa beds and no cots for additional guests.

Please note the weekly service cleans are carried out for stays that are 8 days or more. The cleans will not be carried out if the guest is in the room. Guests need to vacate the room while the room is being serviced.
