Room excellent but let down by a very disappointing breakfast!
Liked: The location, welcome from the door team as always was excellent. Reception was good. Room while cosy was well appointed.
Disliked: We have stayed at the Milestone many times in the past and have enjoyed an excellent stay. However on this occasion the breakfast really let the hotel down. Both our breakfasts were served on cold plates and my husbands kippers (when they eventually arrived/We were eventually warned that the kippers would take time)) we're at best cool/luke warm not helped by cold plate. While my scrambled egg was beautifully cooked, and the salmon excellent but the slice of bread was awful - not sure if it was toasted but it was dry and limp. Toast too was served flat on a plate not in a toast rack like other tables. Especially considering the amazing variety of breads available these days, the toast is very disappointing and particularly for a 5 star hotel. The waitress only could only tell us it was brown bread and not whether it was granary or wholemeal. We were trying to rest in the room before heading out when room service knocked to ask about turn down service - couldn't this be established on arrival. Also, we only discovered the tiny message about tea and coffee making facilities being available when we were leaving the following morning. This could have been covered off on arrival by the reception team.
An exceptional stay at a wonderful London hotel
Liked: We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Milestone Hotel Kensigton! Everything was exceptional, from the elegant atmosphere and beautiful surroundings to the outstanding service and attention to every little detail. The hotel has a unique charm, combining classic British elegance with warmth and comfort. The breakfast was a trully delightful experience: beautifully presented, very English and stylish, served in Cheneston restaurant with classic British character and historic atmoshere. A truly exceptional hotel that deserves every one of its 5 stars. Highly recommended!
Disliked: One small detail that could be improved is in- room amenities, as there was no coffe machine in our room. However this did not take away from the overall quality of our stay.

Liked: We always felt very welcome and looked after. Great choices at breakfast time. And very clean everywhere. Also a great location next to Hyde Park and Kensington Palace.
Disliked: Had a booking at a nearby restaurant made and confirmed by the concierge that wasn't appearing when we arrived at the restaurant.
