    Excellent location

Liked: Brilliant location, the hotel was hard to find with the postcode. The bathroom was great, beds were a bit of a squeeze but expected that with the price.

Liked: Central and safe location, very nice ensuite bathroom, privacy curtains on beds that help block out light and some noise, huge and clean kitchen, and a spacious luggage storage room.

Disliked: The beds were triple bunks, and I couldn’t sit up straight in the middle bunk. Also not convinced that my duvet cover was clean, as it had several small stains. The room was directly facing a very noisy bar, with people shouting until around midnight. Nothing too bad overall, but the price could be slightly lower compared to similar hostels in the area, especially considering the drawbacks.

    Absolutely unacceptable

    Liked: The location

Disliked: I arrived early, requested a bottom bunk, and was checked in by a polite receptionist who gave me a slip with my room and bed number. I received my key card, paid 3GBP for a towel, made my bed with a clean sheet, and left my belongings there. When I returned after 9 pm, a different receptionist told me I apparently hadn’t been checked in properly and my bed had been given to someone else. Despite having my key card, the slip confirming my assigned bed, and all my belongings there, I was told I’d been moved to a middle bunk. I explained that I had specifically requested a bottom bunk for a reason and asked why I was being moved instead of the person who arrived after me. The receptionist repeatedly insisted that I wasn’t in the system and that it wasn’t his fault either. I never accused him of making the original mistake, but explaining why he wasn’t responsible seemed more important to him than resolving the problem fairly. When he told me, “I’m offering you a solution,” I pointed out that he wasn’t offering me a solution at all - he was presenting me with a fait accompli, while repeatedly insisting that it wasn’t his fault. Well, it wasn’t mine either! What makes this particularly unacceptable is that they moved my personal belongings without my permission or even bothering to notify me. They had my phone number, yet neither called nor sent a message while I was out. I returned to find my things on a chair and the woman who’d taken my bed had already slept in it, so I had to go downstairs to ask for a fresh sheet. Mistakes happen, but moving a guest’s belongings without their knowledge, giving away their assigned bed, and failing to contact them is absolutely unacceptable. Repeatedly insisting that it isn’t your fault doesn’t make the situation any better. I travel a lot and have never experienced anything like this. This was my first and last stay at any hostel belonging to this chain.

Excellent location, suitable for a short stay, margin of improvement in terms of hygiene

    Liked: The location is perfect.

Disliked: We didn’t find the room very clean. There were some hairs on two out of four beds and unfortunately the beds are not very comfortable

Not worth the money, and rude staff

    Liked: Good location

Disliked: Front desk staff were rude. I was promised late check out before I arrived I confirmed it 3 times then on checked in, went out for the night, came back late and said as a joke “just confirming I definitely have late check out” to which this guy just goes “actually no” went back and fourth said it was agreed to and he said he was getting another group in and couldn’t move them I said o was driving and if I didn’t have late check out that meant I had to be ready to go in 3 hours which was so dangerous the guy didn’t even give me eye contact just shrugged me off and stopped talking it was so rude I left and slept the remaining hours in my car. The bed also had hair in it and below par cleanliness in toilets
