Nice enough stay but problems with medieval plumbing means that we’d not stay there again
Liked: Staff were accommodating
Disliked: The drains in our room gave us constant trouble. They were blocked on arrival, which was subsequently fixed by staff. Then an absolutely FOUL sulphurous odor emanated from them, almost like stale urine. Staff came and tipped some deodorant down the drain, but it had minimal effect.
Excellent location, staff and vibe
Liked: Excellent location, great atmosphere in the hotel and bar. Good executive lounge if staying in an upgraded room or suite.
Disliked: We were in a studio suite and the bathroom was in need of a refurb and wasn’t very well designed. A walk in shower would have been welcome rather than a shower over bath.
The Cumberland was comfortable and convenient. The stall were helpful
Liked: The hotel was conveniently located near Marble Arch and Hyde Park. It was also near bus stops for both London buses and the Hop On Hop Off busses. The room key also operated the lifts There were food places near by if you didn't wish to eat in the hotel. There was a small self serve shop in the Lobby near the bar for snacks and drinks.
Disliked: The entrance was a little hard to find as the Hotel signage was not obvious although once you found it, it was easy to get into the hotel. The reception desk were quite a distance into the Hotel.
