Fabulous
Not my cup of tea
Liked: The location was good and the receptionist in the morning was lovely. The bed was comfy and linen was clean.
Disliked: It was outdated and felt shabby - vinyl floors, plastic sinks and shower cubicles, patched wood and paintwork. The person who checked us in was condescending and tutted at me when I didn’t have my passport. I was less than 2 hours from home in my own country so don’t travel with it, but was told “you British don’t realise you should”. There was no mention of needing it in any communication. I really don’t think I was the type of guest they wanted. I was ‘upgraded’ to a family room but didn’t want that - I hate big, crowded rooms but was not asked or given a choice. The room smelled so strongly of cheap fabric conditioner it made me feel awful. My daughter said she saw a pot of washing scent beads on top of the mirror which might explain it. There was a framed notice on the wall of our room letting us know the cost of fixing the air conditioning which would be our responsibility if we used hairsprays and aerosols. All the communication was from the owners perspective, not the customers. I was receiving requests to give a 10/10 review before I even left home to travel. The decor was so outdated and crowded including photos of a scrabble board with words about the hotel on it, and there was also the most bizarre glass vase with some glass chips in it and a single spring of a plastic plant which I assume was supposed to be lavender.
Good location and warm welcome
Liked: Warm welcome and homely feel. A bit quirky which we liked enormously. Lovely to have a personal coffee/crossant in the morning. Felt very hospitable.
Disliked: The double room on the lower ground floor was very small.
Liked: location was perfect for us to attend the us embassy just a short walk away. staff were very helpful and welcoming. room was cosy comfortable and had everything we needed.
Liked: Everything. The staff were top class, so helpful and friendly. The pastries and coffee are a treat. The location could not be better. The 24 bus stops literally outside the hotel and regularly connects with Leicester Square, the West End, Buckingham Palace and so much more. We got back from the city centre in 15 mins on each night. You also are a 5 minute walk to the Tube in Pimlico (Madame Tussauds and Oxford/Regent St) and other bus routes like the 38 (London Eye/London Dungeon)or 10 minutes walk to Victoria Station. There are loads of lovely cafes and restaurants close by. The beds are so comfortable as the hotel outlines.. The area is so safe and clean. We will be back!
Disliked: I cant think of anything. The only thought that came to us was the room was a bit tight for space but thats being extremely negative as we spent very little time in the room except to sleep and shower.
Lovely
Liked: The staff were lovely and were very accommodating. They even gave my bf a card and a box of chocolates for his birthday which was really lovely.
Disliked: The air con unit didn’t work properly
Great place to stay in central London
Liked: Staff are excellent. Location is great. Very close to public transport is close by. Also lots of good restaurant are close. Morning coffee with snacks are wonderful gesture.
Disliked: The toilet and bath can use improvement. It is not a four start standard
