SCAM! BEWARE! This is a spare bedroom in someone's flat

Liked: TOTAL SCAM. No mention in the listing that the room is in the host's apartment, where she lives. The advert actually says 'The entire place is yours'. This is untrue. The guests who I booked the room for walked in and walked out again five minutes later.

Disliked: EVERYTHING! What a con! The host is refusing to refund the payment and has told me that the listing states: The property description also states that the room is located within a flat and that the host stays in the building'. This is clearly not true. Booking.com should ensure the listing is accurate.

Liked: EVERYTHING!! Was booked for my son and his girlfriend to see ‘the weekend’ at Wembley. Host was fantastic and really made them both feel comfortable! Definitely recommend staying here.

Unreliable host caused a stressful situation, and was unrepentant

  Liked: Nothing

Disliked: We contacted the host 3 days prior to our visit, requesting a 2pm check in as we had an event to be at. They responded quickly agreeing to our request. The accommodation is in a block of apartments, so you can’t buzz the apartment without having the unit number, and the host had not sent us any details on accessing, so we sent them a message when we arrived at 2.08pm. There was no response so we sent them 2 messages, and tried to call them 7 times over the next hour and half, all to no response. By 3.30pm we were panicking, as we had an event to be at for 4pm, and had nowhere to put our bags, therefore managed to source alternative accommodation at 3.40pm to drop off our bags and check in. We were very stressed by now as we hadn’t heard from the host and were worried about missing our event. At 3.45pm we were contacted by the host to give us access details, but it was too late by then. We politely explained our situation, and requested a refund, which was rejected twice. The host was unhelpful. Booking.com however were very helpful and arranged a refund after investigating.

Room in shared flat - bathroom across the hall and no bedroom door lock. Lacks privacy. Be Warned!

Liked: The location was great for Wembley, despite a series of miscommunications where the host did not pick up the many many messages via phone and B.com about trying the enter the property, the host attempted to make up for her errors by getting drinks etc but unfortunately it was a little late by then. I appreciate her efforts but it really was not an acceptable situation.

Disliked: The listing is misleading. The phrases ‘spacious holiday home’ ‘Private apartment in building’ do not tell the whole story. It is a room in someone's flat. The bathroom is across the hall so not at all private if having to cross over someone else's space, there is no lock on the bedroom door which leaves guests feeling very vulnerable for themselves, their privacy and their possessions. My son and his girlfriend were due to stay there after watching Harry Styles at Wembley and had to make excuses when they realised this reality of being in a stranger's home without the privacy they wanted. She had an anxiety attack about the space. Looking at other reviews, it was not just me that made this mistake, other people have been misled in this way and for £430 for 1 night for them not to be able to stay was upsetting to say the least. I appreciated the host's kindness towards them after making them wait a considerable time to gain entry but the fundamental fact remains that this is not a clear and honest representation. I am beyond gutted that this was supposed to be a special night for the couple and instead they felt they couldn't stay and spent several hours trying to get out of London with a heavy suitcase and a huge sense of disappointment about a ruined weekend.
