What is Perissa?
It is the longest black-sand beach on Santorini, in the south-east, with beach bars, water sports and a village of hotels and apartments below Mesa Vouno mountain.
Getting around from here
Buses to Fira take about 25 minutes. Walking along the beach takes you to Perivolos and Agios Georgios, and in summer there are boats to Kamari.
When the hotels fill up
July and August are the busiest months. It is one of the cheapest areas of the island, with many family hotels and hostels.
