What is Santiago Cathedral?

Santiago de Compostela Cathedral is the end point for pilgrims on the Camino, with the Baroque Obradoiro façade, the Portico of Glory and the botafumeiro, the giant swinging censer. It holds the tomb of Saint James the Apostle and, together with the old town, is a World Heritage Site.

The train station, with trains to Madrid, A Coruña and Vigo, is about 20 minutes’ walk away, and the bus station about 15 minutes by bus. City buses stop at Praza de Galicia, ten minutes on foot.
