What is Interlaken Ost?
Interlaken Ost is the eastern station of Interlaken, between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, and the starting point for the mountain railways into the Jungfrau region.
Getting around from here
The Höheweg promenade and the Höhematte meadow are ten minutes on foot, and the Harder Kulm funicular, across the river, five. Interlaken West, the other station, is about 20 minutes’ walk.
When the hotels fill up
In summer, especially July and August, and in the ski season, hotels near the station sell out. In November many close and there is less choice.
