What is Sarrià?

Sarrià was an independent village until it was annexed to Barcelona in 1921, and its old core still keeps that feel, around Carrer Major de Sarrià and the square of the church of Sant Vicenç. It is part of the upper city, residential and quiet, with schools, houses with gardens and, very close by, the Pedralbes Monastery.

Getting around from here

Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGC) trains stop at Sarrià: lines S1, S2 and L6 run down to Plaça de Catalunya in about ten minutes, and the L12 goes up to Reina Elisenda. Uphill, the Collserola hills are very close for walking or cycling.
