What is Las Ramblas?

La Rambla is Barcelona’s most famous boulevard: just over a kilometre from Plaça de Catalunya to the Columbus monument by the port. Along the way are the Boqueria market, the Gran Teatre del Liceu and, a step away, Plaça Reial.

Getting around from here

Catalunya (lines 1 and 3) is at the top, Liceu (line 3) halfway down and Drassanes (line 3) next to Columbus. The Gothic Quarter lies to the east and the Raval to the west, and Barceloneta is about fifteen minutes’ walk from the bottom of the boulevard.

When rooms are hardest to find

It is busy all year round, and even more so in summer, at Christmas and on long weekends. During the Mobile World Congress prices go up here too.

Which area to choose
