What is Plaça d’Espanya?

Plaça d’Espanya is one of Barcelona’s great squares, at the foot of Montjuïc. It is ringed by the Venetian towers, the old Las Arenas bullring, now a shopping centre with a rooftop viewpoint, and the Fira Montjuïc trade fair grounds, which climb Avinguda de Maria Cristina up to the Magic Fountain and the National Art Museum of Catalonia.

Getting around from here

Espanya station has metro lines 1 and 3 and the FGC trains towards Montserrat, and the Aerobús airport bus stops here. Sants station is about fifteen minutes’ walk away and Poble-sec is right next door.
