What is the Metropolitano?

The Metropolitano has been Atlético de Madrid’s stadium since 2017, in the Rosas neighbourhood of the San Blas-Canillejas district, in the east of the city. Many still call it the Wanda Metropolitano after its first sponsor; today it is the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. It holds around 70,000 spectators and hosted the 2019 Champions League final.

How to get there

Metro line 7 has two stops next to the stadium, Estadio Metropolitano and Las Musas. After a match or concert there are long queues for the metro, so staying close by lets you walk back. IFEMA and the airport are about 4 kilometres away.

When the hotels fill up

As well as league and Champions League games between August and May, the stadium hosts big concerts, especially in spring and summer. On those dates the few hotels in the area sell out quickly and prices also rise in Canillejas and around IFEMA.
