It is Vienna’s main station, opened in 2014 south of the centre, served by almost all long-distance and night trains.
Getting around from here
The U1 reaches Stephansplatz in four stops, and the Belvedere is ten minutes away on foot. The airport train takes about 15 minutes.
When the hotels fill up
It is an area of chain hotels with steadier prices than the centre, although they also rise in Advent and during big trade fairs.
Which area to choose
Next to the station and in the new Sonnwendviertel district there are modern mid-range hotels. They are a good choice if you arrive by train or take day trips to Salzburg and Budapest.
