What is the old town?

Dubrovnik’s old town is the walled city by the sea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: the Stradun, the Rector’s Palace, the old harbour and the city walls, which take about two hours to walk round.

Getting around from here

Pile Gate and Ploče Gate are the entrances; from Ploče, Banje beach is five minutes away and the cable car goes up Mount Srđ. Boats to Lokrum leave from the old harbour.

When the hotels fill up

From June to September, and especially when several cruise ships are in, the old town is packed and places to stay inside the walls sell out months ahead. Spring and autumn are easier.

Which area to choose
