Staying near Lapad: what you need to know
What is Lapad?
Lapad is a green peninsula west of central Dubrovnik, with pine woods, Sumartin bay, Lapad beach and a pedestrian promenade full of bars and restaurants. Babin Kuk is just to the north.
Getting around from here
The old town is 15 minutes by bus, and GruΕΎ harbour, with ferries to the Elaphiti islands, Mljet and KorΔula, ten. Mount Petka, on the peninsula, has good views.
When the hotels fill up
In July and August it fills with families and beach hotels sell out early. Outside summer there is far more choice than in the old town.
Which area to choose
Lapad has beach hotels with pools, apartments and lower prices than inside the walls. Babin Kuk next door has the big resorts; GruΕΎ is more practical if you are catching ferries.
