What is Sierra Nevada?

Sierra Nevada ski resort is in Pradollano, in the municipality of Monachil, about 30 km from Granada. It is the southernmost ski resort in Europe and one of the highest, with a ski season usually from December to April and mountain routes in summer.

Getting there

A bus runs from Granada bus station to Pradollano, and by car you drive up the A-395 in about 45 minutes. On heavy snow days it is worth carrying chains or checking the road conditions.

When rooms are hardest to find

On the December long weekends, at Christmas, at weekends with good snow and during the February school ski week. On those dates accommodation in Pradollano sells out and many people sleep in Granada.
