Plaza de Andalucía

Plaza de Andalucía is the heart of Pradollano, the resort village. The main lifts up to Borreguiles leave from here, and around it are equipment hire shops, ski schools, bars and restaurants. It is the area for those who want to reach the slopes without the car and come back for lunch or a rest between runs.

At night the après-ski scene is concentrated here, so it is the best choice if you are travelling with friends and want to go out. If you want a quiet night's sleep, check the exact street before booking.

Rest of Pradollano

The rest of the village is spread over a hillside with sloping streets and many apartment buildings. It is a good choice for families and groups who want their own kitchen and a little more space. Before booking, check whether the accommodation has easy access to the slopes or whether you will have to walk uphill in boots carrying your skis.

Monachil and the mountain road

Monachil is the municipality the resort belongs to. The village lies below in the valley and is usually cheaper and quieter than Pradollano. In return, you need a car and must drive up the mountain road every day, which may require chains on snowy days. Outside the ski season it is a pleasant base for hiking, for example the Los Cahorros route.

Granada city

If you are only skiing for a day or two, or are more interested in the city than the snow, stay in Granada. That way you combine the slopes with the Alhambra, the Albaicín and the tapas of Calle Navas. In season there are regular buses from Granada bus station to Pradollano, and by car you drive up the A-395. Look for accommodation in the centre or near the exit towards the sierra to avoid traffic leaving the city.
