Where to stay in Tres Cantos: the best areas

Centre and Parque Central

The centre of Tres Cantos revolves around the town hall square and the Parque Central, with its lakes and paths. Around them are restaurants, cafés and shopping centres, so you can go out for dinner without a car. It's the area families and longer-stay visitors like best: children have the park next door and in the evening there's a relaxed neighbourhood feel. Most everyday services, such as pharmacies and supermarkets, are close at hand too.

Around the Cercanías station

Tres Cantos station is on the C-4 Cercanías commuter line, which enters Madrid via Chamartín, Nuevos Ministerios and Sol and runs to Atocha. If you're coming to sightsee in the capital, look for accommodation near the station so you can go in and out by train every day. You avoid the traffic into Madrid and don't have to pay for parking in the centre.

Technology Park and M-607

North of the town is the Madrid Technology Park, with offices of tech companies and research centres. Accommodation here is mainly aimed at business travellers: meeting rooms, parking and direct access to the M-607, the road linking to Madrid to the south and Colmenar Viejo to the north. At night the area is quiet, with little street life.

Residential sectors and Nuevo Tres Cantos

The town is organised into themed sectors, such as Músicos, Pintores or Embarcaciones, and Nuevo Tres Cantos is growing to the north. Here there are mainly apartments and holiday flats on streets with green spaces. They work for long stays, for workers posted for weeks and for those who want to head off early to Manzanares el Real, La Pedriza or the rest of the Sierra de Guadarrama.
