Where to stay in Alcobendas: the best areas
Arroyo de la Vega
This is the modern district in the north of Alcobendas, built beside the A-1 motorway. It has company headquarters, office buildings, shopping centres and plenty of restaurants, as well as large parks for a run. If you are here for work and your meetings are here or in the north of Madrid, you avoid the traffic.
Metro line 10 runs through the area to central Madrid, and via the A-1 and M-40 you can drive to Barajas airport without crossing the city.
Central Alcobendas
The traditional centre is small, with squares, terraces and local shops. Here the town feels more lived-in than the office areas, with tapas places where locals have dinner. Alcobendas-San Sebastián de los Reyes local train station takes you to Chamartín, Nuevos Ministerios and Atocha, so it is a good choice if you will be sightseeing in Madrid every day. Trains are frequent and the centre is walkable.

La Moraleja
In the south of the municipality, right next to Madrid, is La Moraleja, a residential estate of large houses, lots of greenery and silent streets. There is little to do and a car is advisable, although metro line 10 has a station on its edge. It suits long stays or business travellers looking for calm. Its estates have golf courses and international schools nearby, and life is mostly lived indoors.
San Sebastián de los Reyes
Alcobendas and San Sebastián de los Reyes form a single town with no visible border. Central Sanse has a similar neighbourhood feel and shares the local train station. To the north are large shopping and leisure centres by the A-1, handy if you are travelling with children or by car.
