What are Estació del Nord and Joaquín Sorolla?

Valencia has two railway stations a few minutes apart. Estació del Nord, opened in 1917, is a Modernista building by Demetrio Ribes decorated with oranges and tiles, and it serves the Cercanías and many regional trains. Joaquín Sorolla, about 800 metres to the south, is the station for the high-speed trains to Madrid and beyond.

How to get there

Next to Estació del Nord is Xàtiva (metro lines 3, 5 and 9), with lines 3 and 5 to the airport. Joaquín Sorolla is about a ten-minute walk away or can be reached from Jesús metro station (lines 1 and 2). The Plaza del Ayuntamiento is five minutes from Estació del Nord.
