The village and the río de los Ángeles

Pinofranqueado is the largest village in southern Las Hurdes, with shops, bars and most of the accommodation in the lower part of the area. Beside the río de los Ángeles there are bathing spots that get very busy in summer. It is a practical base for exploring the area without giving up services.

Hamlets up the valley

Further up the valley, hamlets such as Ovejuela, Erias and Robledo keep their slate houses and river pools, and have rural cottages and small apartments. Ovejuela is known for the Chorritero waterfall. These are places to switch off, with few services: bring your shopping with you.

Caminomorisco

A few minutes to the east, Caminomorisco is the administrative centre of Las Hurdes and sits on the road that crosses the area between Coria and Ciudad Rodrigo. It has simple hotels and easy access, useful if you arrive late or want to get around the area quickly.
