The village, in the valley of the river Hurdano, has bars, a shop or two and simple rural accommodation. It is a good central point for the Upper Hurdes, as the roads to El Gasco, Fragosa and Casares de las Hurdes start here.

El Gasco and Fragosa

At the end of the valley, El Gasco is one of the best-preserved hamlets, with slate houses and the path to the Meancera waterfall. Fragosa is very close. They have small rural cottages and a great deal of silence. Arrive with dinner sorted or planned in Nuñomoral.
