What is the Theresienwiese?

It is the large open ground south-west of central Munich where Oktoberfest is held, from mid-September to the first Sunday in October, with the breweries’ beer tents and the funfair. The rest of the year it hosts the spring festival and a flea market.

Getting around from here

The U-Bahn links the grounds with the main station and Marienplatz in a few minutes, and trains to the airport leave from the station. On foot, the centre is about 20 minutes away.
