Where to stay in Ardales: the best areas

The village, below the Peña

Staying in the village puts the Castillo de la Peña, the church of Los Remedios and the La Molina bridge within walking distance. The Cueva de Ardales can only be visited in small groups by advance booking, through the interpretation centre.

Reservoirs and northern access

By the Guadalhorce and Guadalteba reservoirs there are rural places to stay and campsites among pines, next to the northern access to the Caminito del Rey. It is the practical area for doing the walkway first thing. Bobastro is a few kilometres away.

El Chorro, Antequera and Málaga

El Chorro, in Álora, at the other end of the gorge, has a railway station. Antequera and Málaga offer much more capacity.
