Old town
The Calle Mayor, the Arco de Zapa and the church of San Juan Bautista form a small centre, protected as a historic ensemble. There are few beds in Hernani itself, but staying nearby lets you stroll among the manor houses in the evening and have dinner in the bars on the town hall square.

Farmhouses and Chillida Leku
On the slopes around the town are caseríos, Basque farmhouses, converted into rural accommodation, close to Chillida Leku and the cider houses of the Urumea valley. They make sense if you have a car and want to go to a cider house in season, from January to April, without worrying about a long trip back.
San Sebastián and Astigarraga
San Sebastián is about ten kilometres away, with frequent buses, and is where most people sleep. Astigarraga, right next to Hernani, is the natural base if your plan revolves around the txotx, the cider house season.
