Old town below the castle

The streets around the church of the Asunción and the Casa Grande sit right at the foot of the crag. Staying here lets you stroll up to the castle and come back for lunch without the car. It is the most charming area, with narrow streets and the odd slope. Choose it if you come to see the heritage or spend an unhurried weekend.

Calle Aniceto Coloma and the shopping centre

Calle Aniceto Coloma is the backbone of the centre and the shopping street. Around it you have shoe shops, cafés, tapas bars and most of the town's daily life. It is a good choice if you want to go out to dinner or for a drink and walk back, and if you are travelling for work and want everything to hand.

During the Moors and Christians festival this area fills with parades and noise until late, something to bear in mind if you want rest.

Around the station

Almansa has a railway station on the line from Madrid to Valencia and Alicante. The surrounding streets are residential and quiet, and the centre is a short walk away. It suits you if you are not travelling by car and want to get off the train and walk to your accommodation with your suitcase.

Motorway exits and industrial estates

At the access points from the A-31 and around the El Mugrón industrial estate there are places to stay designed for drivers. You get on and off the motorway without passing through town and park at the door. They are useful for breaking a long journey to the coast or for meetings with local companies. If you want to see the town, you will have to drive into the centre.
