Torla

The village huddles above the Ara valley, with stone streets climbing to the church of San Salvador and views of Mondarruego. If you sleep in Torla, in the morning you take the shuttle bus to the Ordesa meadow without depending on the car, because in high season the park road is closed to private vehicles.

Mountain gear shops, bars and restaurants are close by. At night the atmosphere is one of climbers preparing the next day's route.

Broto and Oto

Broto is the main town of the valley and has more shops and places to stay than Torla. A walkway leads from the village to the Sorrosal waterfall, and there is a via ferrata beside the falls. Oto, a step away, is a small hamlet of Pyrenean houses. Both suit families and those wanting a wider choice of accommodation a short distance from the park.

Best-rated in this area: Casa Muro Ordesa, with a score of 9.4 from 137 reviews.

Bujaruelo valley

North of Torla, a track climbs the Bujaruelo valley to San Nicolás, with its single-arch bridge and the old mountain hospice. There is no village here, but there is a refuge and a camping area. It is the option for walkers who want to wake up in the middle of nature and head for the Bujaruelo pass, which leads to France. Bring what you need, because there are no shops in the valley.

Fragen, Viu and Linás de Broto

Tiny hamlets with rural houses and apartments are scattered across the valley slopes. Fragen and Viu sit high up, with viewpoints over the Ara, and Linás de Broto lies on the road up to the Cotefablo pass. They are ideal if you want absolute calm and do not mind driving every morning. From these hamlets you reach Torla on narrow mountain roads, so drive carefully.

Best-rated in this area: Casa Muro Ordesa, with a score of 9.4 from 137 reviews.
