Benasque village

Benasque is the heart of the valley and the place with the most services. Its old quarter has stone mansions, the palace of the Counts of Ribagorza and the church of Santa María, and the main streets are lined with mountain gear shops, restaurants and bars. It is the best base if you want to combine skiing or hiking with a lively evening. It is also the starting point for routes up Aneto and the Maladeta massif.

Cerler

Cerler sits higher up, a few kilometres from Benasque, and is the ski resort village. Staying here lets you reach the slopes almost without using the car. The old village keeps narrow streets and traditional houses, while the apartment area spreads out near the lifts. Out of season it is very quiet.

Anciles

Very close to Benasque, Anciles is a small, well-preserved and very quiet hamlet of stone manor houses. You can walk to the main village along a path beside the river Ésera. It suits couples and anyone looking for rest without giving up nearby restaurants. In winter it is a comfortable base for skiing at Cerler while returning to a village with little bustle.

Eriste and Sahún

Down the valley, Eriste and Sahún are small villages a few kilometres from Benasque. Eriste lies beside the Linsoles reservoir and is the gateway to routes into the Eriste valley and the Posets peaks. The atmosphere is rural and family-friendly, and parking tends to be easier. Here you need a car to get around the valley.

Castejón de Sos

Further south, Castejón de Sos is known for paragliding and sits at the entrance to the valley, with a good choice of rural accommodation. It is a practical alternative if you want to sleep somewhere quiet and drive around the whole valley.
